FVHO Purchase and Converting Ascension and ThedaCare to Cooperatives

The following text is a letter to the editor of the Post-Crescent submitted for publication today. If you live in the Fox Valley we urge you to contact your alderperson, county executive, and mayor to urge them to review the FVHO transaction... "On April 10th, the Post-Crescent reported that ThedaCare purchased Fox Valley Hematology and Oncology. The article noted that FVHO had previously built a $23 million facility, and ThedaCare countered by constructing a $44 million facility to “compete.” Thus, Fox Valley residents and businesses will be obliged to pay medical bills that “help” ThedaCare pay off at least $67 million in new capital costs. Activity Update

Following some travel we are back in the saddle and ready to hit the ground running for 2018. Here is what we have on the agenda for the remainder of the month. 4/17 Corrie and Bill will be in Madison to participate in planning for a conference scheduled for April 2019 called "Toward One Wisconsin: A Conference on Overcoming Barriers to Inclusion". We will participate in the planning for Track IV of the conference: "Building Health Equity in Wisconsin". Co-chairs of the conference include Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch and former Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton. 4/19 Marty and Bill will meet with Jim VanderMissen, CEO of Primary Care Associates, the largest independent primary
