Activity Update

April 15, 2018

Following some travel we are back in the saddle and ready to hit the ground running for 2018. Here is what we have on the agenda for the remainder of the month.

4/17   Corrie and Bill will be in Madison to participate in planning for a conference scheduled for April 2019 called "Toward One Wisconsin: A Conference on Overcoming Barriers to Inclusion". We will participate in the planning for Track IV of the conference: "Building Health Equity in Wisconsin". Co-chairs of the conference include Lieutenant Governor Rebecca Kleefisch and former Lieutenant Governor Barbara Lawton.

4/19   Marty and Bill will meet with Jim VanderMissen, CEO of Primary Care Associates, the largest independent primary care practice in the area. Our plan for a new insurance option will be on the agenda.

4/24   Marty and Bill will make a presentation to Health Watch Wisconsin at 9:30am at Goodwill on Appleton Road in Menasha in the Obeya Room.

We are coordinating schedules for two interviews this month. Marty, David and Bill will be interviewed by Guy Boulton of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel and Sean Kirkby of Wisconsin Health News.

Also, this month we will resume our discussion with members of the Outagamie County Board regarding a referendum question to be put to voters in November.

Finally, we will have two interns for the summer from the graduate program in Healthcare Administration at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Alexander Anton Olp will work on our plan for a new insurance option for the Fox Valley. Our second intern, not yet identified, will work on the issue of governance. Thanks to our Barbara Zabawa for sending the reinforcements.
